Luna
In the book Luna, the main character is struggling with keeping her brother's secret, her brother, feels like he's a girl born into a girls body. The main character has to face the question, "just because he's different, does that mean I have to treat him different?" throughout the entire book.
Regan the main character, has to put away her social life in order to protect her brother Liam, aka. Luna. Regan lives in this constant fear of what would happen if she would let the secret slip, and once she did, would her brother ever find a way to for give her.
Regan tries not to treat her brother any different but it's hard when her dad is a total homophobic and her mom doesn't like to deal with trouble. Liam thinks that he could turn to his best friend, but when he tells her, she gets scared and starts to cry, this leads Regan to another question, "will anyone love my brother the way i love him?"
